A circuit with alternating current causes the value of voltage and current to vary sinusoidally. This alternating current gives rise to the phenomena called Lead & Lag current with reference to voltage. Leading KVArH leads to increase of line power loss, increase of transformer power loss, increase of system voltage there by making eddy current loss resulting of the power factor to go out of order thus creating severe electrical stress in the system.
